Hi, my name is Darla Doss and I am looking forward to representing District 2 as a member of the Marshall County School Board. For those that might not know me, I thought I’d introduce myself.

I grew up just over the bridges in Trigg County. I graduated from TCHS in 1988 and then went on to graduate from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992. While at UK, I met my husband, Brian, and we were married in 1993. That year we also moved to Marshall County, purchased a dental office (Doss Dentistry), and laid down roots. I am fortunate that I get to work every day with my husband as I have served as the office manager since 1993.

Brian and I have 2 children, Devan and Derek. Devan is a 2014 graduate of Marshall County High School and Derek is a 2018 graduate of MCHS. Both of our children were very active in the Marshall County School system, having attended Benton Elementary and then Benton Middle before moving to the high school.

After graduating, Devan went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky University and returned to Marshall County in 2018 to join our dental practice as a Dental Hygienist. Devan is a newlywed and lives in Benton with her husband, Grant and dog, Max.

Derek is currently a junior at the University of Kentucky majoring in both Economics and Finance, and minoring in International Business.

I am a member of First Baptist Church; a 20+year volunteer member of the Benton Woman’s Club, and I'm currently serving my second term as Treasurer for GFWC Kentucky (General Federation of Women’s Clubs).

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time on the lake, playing in one of my Bunco groups, hanging out with friends and family, and making crafts.

I can’t wait to jump in and get involved with my new position on the Marshall County School Board. Go Marshals!
