Marshall County High School has announced the hiring of Nick Bloodworth as its new head football coach.

The 36 year old Bloodworth comes to Marshall County from Paducah Tilghman, where he served as an assistant coach since 2017. Before that, Bloodworth was the defensive coordinator at Ballard Memorial from 2012 to 2017. Bloodworth is a 2011 graduate of Murray State University.

Bloodworth hopes to begin his teaching duties in Marshall County by the end of this month and wants to get started as soon as possible working with players on weight training, speed and agility.

I’m a big believer in winning in the off-season,” Bloodworth said. “You win in January and February with hard work in the weight room. I will bring a hard-nosed style of play. I want kids to have fun, work hard and be competitive.

Bloodworth says he’s always wanted to be a head coach but it needed to be the right situation. “I believe there’s plenty of support in the school district and the community to get the Marshall County football program back to where it once was and build for a bright future,” Bloodworth said.
