We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Marshall County School Superintendent Kenneth Shadowen. Mr. Shadowen died Tuesday, June 18 at Marshall County Hospital. Mr. Shadowen was the Superintendent of Marshall County Schools from 1988 to 2000. He served on several boards throughout his career, including being president of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents and the West Kentucky Educational Coop. He was also on the boards of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators and the Kentucky Teachers' Retirement System.
The Kenneth Shadowen Performing Arts Center on the campus of Marshall County High School is named after him for his dedication to the school system.
