MCHS senior Tommy Robertson has signed to continue his soccer career at Centre College in Danville, Ky. Tommy will join a strong Centre team playing in the NCAA Division III Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
Tommy has been a four-year contributor to the Marshall County varsity team, beginning his freshman season in 2021.
As a senior captain in 2024, Tommy led the team with 14 goals and one assist while starting all 26 games. His leadership was evident both on and off the field – setting the standard in training, finishing first in team runs, and giving maximum effort every day. Tommy’s relentless work ethic, toughness and willingness to learn made him an invaluable player. He embraced challenges, asked thoughtful questions, and always prioritized the team’s success over personal accolades. Whether holding the defensive line or pushing forward in attack, Tommy’s impact was undeniable.
Tommy’s outstanding high school career earned him numerous accolades including:
• All-District Team (2023, 2024)
• All-Region Second Team (2023)
• All-Region First Team (2024)
• All-Region Defensive Player of the Year (2024)
• Marshall County Team Defensive Player of the Year (2024)
• Marshall County Team Player of the Year (2024)
In addition to his success on the soccer field, Tommy excels academically. He is the President of the National Honor Society, placed first at FBLA Regionals in 2024 and 2025 and ranks in the top 10 of his graduating class.
“Tommy has been an exceptional player and leader for Marshall County and we have no double he will make a significant impact at Centre College”, Head Coach Bryan Smothers said. “We wish him the best of luck in this exciting new chapter and look forward to cheering him on next fall in Danville.”
