Today marks 23 years since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that forever changed our nation. On this day each year, we remember those who died in the worst terror attack on American soil.
In Marshall County, the Student Council at South Marshall Middle School hosted a 9/11 Memorial Museum today and invited students, staff and community members to visit.
The museum was set up on the gym stage and featured a timeline of events as they unfolded on that terrible day. It also featured the twin towers with 3,000 patriotic words representing each of the lives lost on 9/11. There are also stories from those directly impacted by the 9/11 attacks and memories from many teachers at SMMS.
This is the 2nd year the student council has featured this memorial museum.
